Summer House Bedroom
Summer is in full swing, and it’s time to take a deep breath and soak your stress away.
The function of any bedroom is first and foremost to provide a restful environment for sleeping. There shouldn’t be anything disturbing or jarring in a bedroom, even if you’re using the most modern style of design.
In this room, everything is conducive to resting, so the room’s primary function is completely fulfilled. But this bedroom also functions well not just for providing a good night’s sleep, but also for providing a comfortable place in which to read or enjoy the view of the water.
You’ll note that here the tall windows have no curtains, so that might make you think the room would be difficult for sleeping late into the morning, something we all love to indulge in during vacations. But notice the curtains around the bed itself: close these curtains and you’ve shut out the morning light, and you’ve also created a cozier and more intimate space around the bed.
The night stands on either side of the bed also function well; when a couple is using the bed, each person will have access to books, reading light, or alarm clock.
The mood of this room is a relaxed one, and the antique furniture creates an old-fashioned feeling, bringing a visitor back to a slower, simpler time. But it isn’t stuffy; the antiques are arranged in a modern way, and the carpet and modern windows and doors to the balcony undercut any potential stuffiness from the old-fashioned furniture.
The swags of curtain material draped around the bed add to the mood, recalling colonialists’ luxurious homes in the Caribbean islands.
Finally, let’s look at the harmony of the room: Everything works together here, and nothing is out of place. The fact that pale, summery colors dominate the room makes harmonizing easy: the white bedspread sets the standard as the brightest thing in the room, since the walls are slightly more tea-colored, and the carpet is slightly darker still. The wood of the furniture, and the maroon throw pillows on the bed, further bring in deeper tones that prevent the room from appearing cold or sterile.
10 Home Decorating Ideas
2. Paint A Wall - Paint one wall your favorite color and make it the focal point. Hang interesting art on that wall and move a nice piece of furniture there. (Note: Make sure that the color is one that is shared with several other objects and fabrics in the room.) Editors Note: Not all renters will be allowed to paint, visit Decorating by Room for more wall decorating ideas.
3. Bring In Plants - Greenery always adds a breath of fresh air to a room. If you don't have a green thumb, try silk plants and trees. The quality has gotten so good that its hard to distinguish them from the real thing.
4. Lay An Area Rug- An area rug is a wonderful way of defining a conversation area. Try one that complements the room. Lay it at an angle beneath your coffee table.
5. Hang Pictures or Mirror - Hang pictures that reflect your personality. Try frames that are more ornate. When hanging a mirror, try and position it so that it reflects and nice view or an interesting architectural element.
6. Group Figurines - Pull out your favorite collectibles. Show off your personality. Find a display area and group related objects together, in sets of three or five. Try and vary the shapes.
7. Add Decorative Pillows - The good news about decorative pillows is that they are an easy way to add textures and patterns to a room. Still better, they can be changed to jazz up a sofa or chair before your room is ready for a major makeover.
8. Replace Lamps- - Lamps are probably the one thing in your home that will give others a clue that your room is outdated. Seek out new and fresh lamps that make a statement.
9. Add A Throw Or Afghan - Similar to decorative pillows, throws and afghans add texture to your furniture. They come in all kinds of natural and man made fabrics. Find a pattern and style that you like.
10. Eliminate Clutter - Clutter has a way of eliminating the desired mood and effect of any room. Find storage spaces for papers, toys, and other items that take from the personality of a room.
Inexpensive DIY Under-Cabinet Lighting for home
Why?
Previously when you prepared food in my mom's kitchen you would be standing between the ceiling light and your work surface, thus casting a shadow. Additionally, under cabinet lighting tends to look nice. It's quite the dramatic effect in person and definitely stepped up the look of the kitchen a lot. It's less harsh of a light in person and significantly improved visibility while working in the kitchen.
Cost & Power Usage
I was able to light my mom's entire kitchen for under $40.00 including all parts. Additionally, the lights are quite power efficient, using about 3 watts per light tube (I used 6 pair / 12 tubes total). Total wattage=36 watts, or 3amps at 12V. This is a little over half the power usage of a normal 60watt incandescent bulb. Your final project price will vary depending on your supplies and the size of your kitchen.
Compare With and Without
1. Under cabinet lighting on, Ceiling light off.
2. Under cabinet lighting off, Ceiling light on.
3. Both under cabinet lighting on and ceiling light on.

New Modern and Tradisional Decoration Home Bar Design
Greats Beautiful Modern Decoration Home Bar Design
Home bar is a very unique place, a place to relax and have your favorite drink after you come home from office. I most cases home bar is a semi open space attached to the living room and dining area. A home bar can be placed in a way that looks outside or also as a place from where the television is visible. When a home bar is attached to the living room, it serves as a serving place during party or a small family get together. Depending upon the space available and the passion of the home owner a large variety of readymade or designer home bars are available. Here are some aspects that need to be considered while designing or installing home bar.
Cool and Nice Decoration Home Bar Design
Space First decide on how often do you want to use the home bar. Depending upon this you will have to stock it with your favorite drinks. And the amount of stock will decide the size of the bar. Finally look for the right space in your home that will accommodate your desired bar table and chairs. Budget The budget is also an important factor.
Unique Modern Decoration Home Bar Design
The budget comes into play when you actually will start to install the home bar. For example do you want to store the drinks in a refrigerator or just a glass shutter cabinet will make a big difference in the budget.
Tradisional Decoration Home Bar Design
Also do you want a sink and a water connection on your bar table or are you going to arrange the water from the kitchen will affect your budget. Here are some commonly available bar plans and shapes you can go about. Which plan you choose will depend upon the space available in your home.

1) Office in an entirely new room in a home
2) A small part of the room converted into a home office.
Luxury Decoration Home Office Design Ideas
The actual plan of the office space largely depends upon the kind of business you are in. Many types of businesses can be run today from home. But you must first analyze the amount of space required to run a business from home.
You can create a sort of FAQ for yourself to answer some basic questions like following.
1) How many people will accompany you in your office?
2) What is the expected growth of your business as far as revenue generation and hence number of employees is concerned?
3) Does your business involves frequent meeting with clients or presentations, just like in a seminar hall.
4) Does your business involve physical inventory of products?
5) Does your business involve relationships with foreign clients?
6) How many hours per day do you work normally?
7) How many kids do you have?
If you find the answers to these and similar questions you will find that they directly affect the location of your office in your home. For example if the answer to question number 5 above is yes,( about foreign clients), then are you going to work overnight to get along with the communication required with clients in other countries. Then how will this affect the privacy of other family members.

Another point is if your kids are small, how will you protect your office stationery and other things such a computers and other documents away from their reach. You know, kids like to learn new things and a home office is a nice place to explore their curiosity. In this case are you going to use a half partition or other methods to segregate the office space from rest of the home. As recently as the early 90’s the home office meant a company’s headquarters. If you worked in an office at home people figured you’d been laid off, or if they were charitable they assumed you were a freelancer.
Minimalis Decoration Home Office Design
Now more about 30 million Americans are working from home at least part time, and 70% of those people have a home office or designated workstations in their homes. In fact, home offices ranked as the fourth most important feature in a new upscale home according to a recent survey by the National Association of Home Builders. New technologies such as wifi, teleconferencing software, and powerful personal computers have helped enable the telecommuting and work at home trend, but a host of design options are part of the reason for the change too. It used to be that your choice was cheap (but not necessarily inexpensive) modular office furniture from Staples or a huge desk from a high-end furniture store. Now cabinet makers are creating custom built home office spaces, and many interior designers are willing to take on one room at a time.
Cute Decoration Home Office Design
At the high end, men in particular, are creating “testosterone rooms” with touches of grandeur and big plasma screen for watching football games with buddies. For a mere $20,000 Hooker Furniture will sell you a wrap around the room home office set with a built-in look including a matching desk and chair, a computer hutch, a bookcase, a credenza, an entertainment center large enough for a 60-inch flat-screen television, and a bar cabinet.
Unique Decoration Home Office Design
For some reason women never had a place to work and had to use the end of the kitchen counter or a small desk in the guest bedroom, but not any more. Some women have added a room devote entirely to their work, away from areas used by the kids.
A key to making a space suitable for work is adequate storage. Something as simple as a filing cabinet where you can keep your work will make a real difference in productivity. Office Depot knows more than half its customers are women, and that the number of businesses owned by women are growing twice as fast as others, so they’ve added several lines of furniture designed specifically for women.
New Amazign Modern Design Home Decoration Ideas
There’s a reason why owners of many modern homes eschew pattern. Vivid florals, checks, plaids and geometric patterns tend to detract from simple and elegant modernist lines. Additionally, patterns tend to date a room. An op art print instantly takes us back to the 1960s. A muted floral print instantly transports us to the 1940s. And when we see chocolate brown and baby blue retro prints, well, we think 2005. Most of us, however, aspire to a more classic feel to our homes. At the same time, patterns and prints are fun, (like the Lotus Bleu Danish modern chair on the right) and we all want a little more of that in our homes too. So what’s the best way to incorporate pattern (and a little bit of whimsy) into a modern home.
1) Limit patterns to pieces that can easily be changed out. In short, rather than choosing a graphic patterned tile for your kitchen floor, choose patterned dish towels, potholders, dishes, placemats and kitchen accessories. The secret to using pattern is to use it in small doses that will not be difficult or expensive to change when the pattern becomes passe.
2) In decorating living rooms and dens, you’re better off opting for pattern in smaller furniture pieces rather than anchor pieces. Instead of a patterned couch, choose patterned pillows. Or think about adding pattern to an accent chair that can later be easily re-covered or slip-covered. Recently, many modernists have added pattern to their living spaces through patterned lampshades.
3) Consider a mural. Want an up-to-the-minute pattern in your home, but you want to be able to change at the drop of a hat? Consider incorporating pattern into your home through a painted pattern or wall decals (check out patterns offered by the French firm, Domestic, at left). The big plus is that painted pattern is easier to change than painted wall paper, and wall decals, (at least in theory) can just be peeled off. Also, just a little bit goes a long way. It’s enough to paint just one accent wall or entryway with a dazzling pattern to dramatic effect.
Simple Modern Design Home Decoration for livingroom Ideas
4) Think about incorporating pattern in more subtle ways. What does that mean? How about a wooden floor installed in a herringbone pattern, or a fireplace incorporating an interesting tile pattern? What about a room divider or bookshelf built in a uniquely patterned way? Pattern does not have to mean pattern found on fabric, but can extend to patterns that are actually part of walls, floors, and furniture.
5) Stick to classics. It’s oh-so-tempting to choose up-to-the-minute colors and patterns that seem so current today. But the problem with all the neon colors and graphic prints is that they also quickly go out of style. The easiest way to handle the problem is to opt for patterns that have proven themselves to be classic over time. Patterns that fall into this category include the prints and designs found in oriental rugs and tribal kilims, most stripes, and the pattern found in cowhide, zebra and other animal skins.
6) Use pattern judiciously. Even very bold patterns that will date fast can be used and enjoyed when they are used carefully. That means opting for less pattern rather than more. You probably don’t want to add pattern through drapes or curtains, which tend to dominate a large visual expanse. Instead, how about a boldly patterned footstool, which uses much less visual space? Using pattern in smaller amounts will give your pattern more staying power. Even if a pattern never becomes a classic, in small doses it is likely to work well for many years to come.
